Repetitive Nonreentrant Ventriculoatrial Synchrony (RNRVAS)
نویسنده
چکیده
Retrograde ventriculoatrial conduction in persons with implanted dual chamber pacemakers can cause two types of responses. One is the familiar pacemaker mediated endless loop tachycardia. Another less known response is the repititive non-rentrant ventriculoatrial synchrony (RNRVAS). Both conditions produce similar symptoms due to the loss of atrial booster function and the presence of the reverse atrial kick, which initiates neurocardiogenic responses.

Pacemaker repetitive nonreentrant ventriculoatrial synchrony. Why did automatic mode switching occur?
Repetitive nonreentrant ventriculoatrial synchrony during dual-chamber pacing is characterized by long intervals alternating with short intervals. This arrangement activated automatic mode switching in a St Jude dual-chamber pacemaker in which the algorithm requires an atrial sensed event for automatic mode switching initiation. Automatic mode switching activation by an atrial sensed event (ret...
متن کاملRepetitive non-reentrant ventriculo-atrial synchrony induced atrial fibrillation terminated with inappropriate shock
Repetitive nonreentrant ventriculo-atrial synchrony (RNRVAS) is an arrhythmia which occurs in patients with dual-chamber devices and requires an intact ventriculo-atrial conduction. It can present with symptoms similar to those of pacemaker-mediated endless loop tachycardia and is an example of functional atrial undersensing and functional loss of atrial capture. In addition to loss of optimal ...
متن کاملNonreentrant focal activations in pulmonary veins in canine model of sustained atrial fibrillation.
Repetitive rapid activities are present in the pulmonary veins (PVs) in dogs with pacing-induced sustained atrial fibrillation (AF). The mechanisms are unclear. We induced sustained (>48 h) AF by rapidly pacing the left atrium (LA) in six dogs. High-density computerized mapping was done in the PVs and atria. Results show repetitive focal activations in all dogs and in 12 of 18 mapped PVs. Activ...
متن کاملAttentional Synchrony and the Affects of Repetitve Movie Viewing
Attentional synchrony is a new theory in the studies of scene perception, proposing that multiple viewers of dynamic scenes attend to the same location of the scene at the same time. The following paper investigated the effects of repetitive viewing of a professionally edited movie scene on the attentional synchrony of viewers. Participants were required to view a scene from the James Bond movi...
متن کاملPrefrontally driven downregulation of neural synchrony mediates goal-directed forgetting.
Neural synchronization between distant cell assemblies is crucial for the formation of new memories. To date, however, it remains unclear whether higher-order brain regions can adaptively regulate neural synchrony to control memory processing in humans. We explored this question in two experiments using a voluntary forgetting task. In the first experiment, we simultaneously recorded electroence...
